Understand hidden GPS metadata
When location access is enabled for the Camera app, an iPhone can store latitude and longitude in a photo's metadata. That location may be visible inside the Photos app, but it is not necessarily obvious when the image is exported, printed or viewed elsewhere.
When a visible location stamp is better
A visible stamp is useful when the location needs to travel with the picture itself. Job-site documentation, inspections, property records and travel albums are common examples.
Use existing GPS data
Photo Locale can import a photo that already contains GPS data, turn that location into readable information, and place a customizable stamp on the image.
Choose the details you need
- Street address
- Country
- Latitude and longitude
- Date and time
You can move and resize the stamp before saving the finished image.
Before sharing a location-stamped photo publicly, consider whether the image reveals a home address, private property or another sensitive location.
